Sony A7 + LA-EA4 + Maxxum 50mm f/1.7

With everyone getting new bodies, I think that separate section for you to proudly display your first image from your new acquisition is in order.

This applies to brand new bodies, as well as bodies that are simply newly acquired by you.

Not quite the first image but within the first 10. I just picked up this camera last night.

Thanks guys, the A7/A7s have been taunting me for a while, and so far I have been very impressed with what I have been able to get out of this camera. For the record it works really well with the Leica Summicron 50mm f/2 (via a borrowed Novoflex LM-NEX adapter) and surprisingly my SAL30M28 (Sony 30mm f/2.8 Macro DT - crop lens) is surprisingly usable in full frame mode. I'm debating whether to get a Novoflex LM-NEX (or a Voigtlander VM-E Close focus adapter) or a Novoflex Nikon G-NEX first.

This a very nice picture. I like the reflection on the water and colours.

It has a lot to live up to, but I am slowly configuring it to fit into the Nikon family and so far it has impressed with its IQ. I will certainly be putting it through its paces!

Congrats Cam :)

I'll be interested to see where they take this camera/system - more small/light native lenses (esp wides) would make it interesting (using adapters and/or adding large bulky lenses doesn't really interest me)

I am currently using a Leica Summicron M 50mm f/2 on it, and intend to expand my M-mount kit to go with this system. Sony has a lot of work to build a reasonable kit around this system, everyone has different ideas as to what they want from it (ie some want fast zooms, others want small/lightweight primes). I would love a nice fast 35mm or 40mm that is compact, and will be happy to continue using and adapting the variety of lenses I have.

Thanks Matt, I am sure there will be plenty more photos posted with this combo and other strange combos...I am really enjoying this camera, although it is not without its faults (my main gripe at the moment is that it doesn't come with an external charger...charges very slowly via USB)

Great photo Cameron. I'll be interested to see how the A7s performs. Supposedly the high ISO performance is so good, one can photograph a black cat in a coal mine on a dark night, even when it's not there!!

I wish I had the A7s, it is meant to be very good at high ISO's and the physics suggests so as well. The only foreseeable problem with the black cat in the coal mine is that neither the AF nor your eyes would be able to focus on it.

Chuck Norris does not take photographs, photographs appear upon description on his memory card (which fits any camera and has limitless storage capacity).
