I have the same problem with my UK registered VISA card that I have been using here for 2 years, every now and again it gets refused much to my horror! I had to phone the UK at my own cost to allow the purchase of my D70 to go through. As much as I appreciate the security check its also a pain in the bum!
Oh well I guess cash is still king!

Birddog, glad to see this has been solved, great news.

I think it still must be viewed as a requirement that anyone ordering through Birddog pay cash. Really, as a gesture, users who can reasonably get to his place should do so. Remember most bank charge fees for deposits, so Birddog is paying for you to get these bargains, plus the less movements on his account the better.

On the above point of fees I will point out that I usually round up Birdys prices to the nearest note to compensate him for any fees. I had to pay $2837 (for about $4700 worth of goods!) so gave Birddy $2850. Did I fell ripped off. No, just grateful to get a good deal. Maybe we should all keep this in mind with Birddy, he makes nothing out of this.

Well, Well, Well.

I am only new here and wasn't aware of any of this Bank Balls up, I am in Melbourne and thought this was the greatest way to get Birddog his $$$
I just transferred from my WestPac to his Bank ( Great ) I thought.

I hope you have your $$$ Birddog, I'm hoping to receive my Lenses Friday by Fed Ex.

Cash would have been pretty hard for me to organise from down here in the Swamp Lands so I thought this was great.

Birddog has been very helpfull to me, ringing me up & E-mailing me back & forth day & night giving ETA's

I think you should be nominated for Young Australian Of The Year.

I will let everybody know how happy I am when I get my Babies & SB 800
Light Puncher.

Hope everything is O.K. Birddog,
You should have told me to hold off a bit.

Thanks,

Mic.

G'day,
Haven't been logged on much for the last few days as I've been just about been living at work and I've just noticed this thread.

I've been one of the mob that Birddog has kindly gone out of his way to help... We all owe you one mate...

Since last week-end, I've been struggling with the bank and I'm with the Commonwealth too! The same $#^%ing bank! And niether of us could get access to funds! To top it off even physical money orders have been stuffed up by less than stellar performance from an individual at the Melbourne CBD post office...

Birddog, I really admire your desire to help people and your patience, I hope this works out as quickly as possible... I'll also be discussing this with my account Mgr tomorrow as this is ridiculous.

Cheers
Mudder.

Which Bank?

Postby digitor on Fri Dec 03, 2004 8:34 pm

Don't you just love banks? I'm only new on this forum, but Birddog has helped me out already (I picked up my strap, pec-pads and blower from Fozzie today). I'm glad the bank problem has finally been resolved.

I was just about to bother Birdy again with a lens request, but I think I will leave it till after Christmas now, in case things stuff up again. I would definitely prefer to pay up front with a direct deposit for something like a lens, as I think it's a bit much to ask somebody to trust a stranger with that sort of money.

Have a good Christmas Birddog, and thanks!
