Issues addressed with D2X Firmware Ver. 1.01
Autofocus performance has been increased.
An issue that prevented the AF-assist illuminator from firing when the Speedlights listed below were used has been corrected.
SB-29S, SB-29, SB-23, SB-22S, SB-22, SB-20.
In images captured at a shutter speed of 1/250 s with a Speedlight SB-800, set to Distance-priority manual flash (GN), or Manual flash (M) with flash output set to full (M1/1) mounted on the camera, the top portion was often dark. This issue has been addressed. However, under the circumstances described above only, the guide number is reduced from that of full flash output level by approximately 0.6 EV.
Images captured at white-balance settings of Incandescent, Direct sunlight, Cloudy, Shade, and Choose color temp. tended to have a reddish tint. This issue has been addressed.
Errors in Dutch menus have been corrected.

The AF on the D2x was fast and now more faster with the new upgraded firmware. Ready to catch the action of the new F22 JSF.

Pls. note:
You have to format the CF card from the camera and it has the "DCIM" folder.
Copy the upgraded firmware to card and do not place it in the "DCIM" folder, if you format the CF card from the card reader, it won't work.

Bjorn Rorslett seems to be suggesting that the new firmware update for the D2X produces improved performance for HI-1 and HI-2

I can relate to that.
And to kind of answer Mikhail, I belive that the next firmware update will make the camera into a FF one.

I'm not sure that Fozzie's the one you should be asking that question of.

Birddog, how silly, would be better to have both instead of just one
Gary, please have a discussion with Birdie at the earliest convenience

Paul,
You're talking about the body
or the firmware?
Firmware, you have to do both of them at once.
body, you can do once not twice
No more juice left after the first try

I think I will hold back on upgrading until next week. I am on a food shoot all week and it has been performing so well that I don't want to risk anything! I remember the issues with one of Canon 20D's firmware updates.
Can't wait to see how the AF improves though
Happy B'day Wendellt, it is true that ths is a nice gift

I didn't see anything wrong with the firmware u/g but it's vice versa and it's liked a breeze in a hot day.

MCWB,
Watch out! that body is OK and suitable for us but not for you or anyone in the process of a commitment to a "life sentence".
We have been suffering enough
so another body may help us to recover
