You "haven't logged in for a while" ?

Do you have a different ID that was used before? If so, is there a reason you're not using it now?

Otherise, I'm sort of having an issue reconciling your statement about not having logged in for a while with the fact that you (a) joined yesterday, and (b) this is your first ever post.

To answer your question though, no, nothing has changed.

You haven't logged in for a bit over a month.

Your error isn't something ridiculously unusual. Pretty much a server timeout.

Try logging in under your original name.

NO, the problem is, i am -=Monty=-

The only reason i made this thread, is because whenever i access ANY part of dslrusers, i get that error.

I cannot view the site under my main account (-=Monty=-)

If i log in now as -=Monty=-, i get the error, and i have to clear cache for it to not remember me as logged in.

Monty

Gary banned some IP addresses recently for excessive server hits. One possibility is you are one of those. PM Gary.

If he's a banned IP, he won't even get to be able to post here, so that's not the issue.

The problem seems to be that he has, somewhere along the way, possibly changed his profile.

Please PM Leigh and he will look into this for you. (He needs the practice. )

Of course Gary - what a dummy I am

If I had a brain I'd be dangerous (or is that Danger Mouse!)

If that was an option, which for most, it's not.

Even with a dynamic IP, most ISPs don't change the IP assigned to a user all that often.

Of course, many users have static IPs, and that makes the exxercise of trying to change IPs moot, which is why my action works.

Of course, I have access to a number of static IPs, so banning me would require quite a bit of work. :)

I actually meant something as simple as walking to a next door neighbours and trying or a friends house

me too. I dare say the high percentage of IT professionals who inhabit this forum would be in the same boat. I hate computers. might have to get a less stessful job one day. you know difusing bombs, wrestling crocs etc
Actually it's not so much the computers, it is what the users do to them.
Networks would be much nicer if they didnt have any users hanging off them.

Your admin rights might make it hard to make the banning stick too... :D
Couldn't you just ban a subnet?

I can, and in certain circumstances I have.

But I know that both Glen and Birddog are on a part of the same subnet .... as are several other users.
