If you're a diligent surfer, you would have no doubt come across the leaked images from the D2X while at the photographic trade shows and exhibitions around Asia.

Here's one fullsize, with .16 firmware (pre release)
http://www.netnetphoto.com/photogallery ... C_0001.jpg

Get it while it's still there! (if you're interested)
I've downloaded and saved, checked EXIF. It looks genuine. ISO 100, f4 at 1/60th with flash, in sRGB. Not an exciting image, but look at the brown chair in the shadows - noise is very very good.

Nikon must of blown all their budget on camera development and run out for models.

...and the D2X prices are officially announced.

$US6299 MSRP, $4999 estimated (US) street price.

Birddog, this is less than the expected street price for the 300/2.8VR - maybe you should add this to your lust list too!

Edit: Link for Nikon USA (Maxwell Aust should have their links up by 2006)

The prices shown in headlines on the D70 home page are incorrect - the prices in brackets should be Euros and not dollars!!

I placed mine in pre-order two months ago and got the confirmation price of it on Monday for US$4599.00 F.O.B but ETA is early June 05, see what happened, price may change at that time.

That's an automated direct feed from DPR. If the detail's wrong, it's a DPR issue.
