Have not even had my camera for a week and I broke 1000 today...
How many shots to the mirrors last?
A mate said his film SLR has clocked 1/2 a million so far...

Shame, I set the counter to reset every format. And I chuck away images not meeting my standard. So there's a discrepency between shutter actuations versus total images shot (and kept). But in the vicinity of 9-10k in a little over 6 months. This rate's expected to slow down once the novelty factor wears off I think...

I know one of my friend got his odometer on their D70s and now the first one: it's 78900 in 8 months, but it's still going well and had no problem so far.
The same guy has the second D70 body and at 15k, it get stucked, send to Nikon in Meville (CA) and waiting for replacing parts to arrive.
I saw one D70, belong to one of the Dept. Of Minister, it got over 100k on its clock in 12 months.
Well once again, it's depend on your luck, I have no problem with mine so far in both 3 bodies (D70/ D100/D2h) but perhaps will be in my next D2x
