Hope this question isn't stupid...Hello all,
ok...i feel a bit silly asking this question but here goes.. I'm new to using NEF..and I was wondering once you've shot in NEF and then PP'd it enough to your satisfaction...and you want to go and get a print of it...what do you save it as generally? TIFF? Saving back to JPEG would lose quality due to such high compression right? I may be on the wrong track here so please help me if I can. I got a 1gig card today (thanx Birddog) and now I can afford to use NEF. Thanks in advance, Geoff.
Hi,
I save back to jpeg to send for print - though most labs will take either format. I have not noticed any quality issues with going to jepg but having never sent a tiff away to print, I have no comparison. That wasn't very helpful was it Craig
Geoff,
Save as NEF initially; that way you get to keep but review your changes further down the track should you wish to. If you're doing the printing yourself, print directly from there; otherwise, save as a high quality jpg. g.

Geoff,
Save as Jpeg after PP and send to printing lab otherwise using NEF in direct printing or DIY. You won't notice much quality changed in Jpeg after saved Birddog114
