Noise reduction software and the D70 is a perfect combination.

The D70's high ISO noise is very uniform and regularly spaced which is a breeze for software to remove effectively. Which also means one should not hesitate to use higher ISO sensitivities while shooting in lower light, without much fear of the consequence of noisy imge.

Eg: ISO1000 -

In fact, the whole Langkawi Aquarium gallery here was shot at ISO1600 and cleaned up with Neat Image: http://dr-cbtan.fotopic.net/c160526.html

ahhh - nice to see someone else has some taste around here ;)

I agree - have had no real complaints with noise at higher ISO's.

LOL, oh yeah - how is the NRL season coming along? When I left, they were only just coming into quarter finals, and the Dragons were undecidedly in/out of contention...

If this weren't a footy free zone, I'd tell you that the finals actually just start this weekend. First match was last night, Penrith at home to the Dragons.

Penrith got off to a firebreathing start and were up 24-0 after around 18 minutes. 24-12 at half time, but Penrith snuck in 31-30.

Thanks for the heads up Gary. Who knew a bunch of sophisticated DSLR users would also be into blue collar pastimes such as footy?! ;)
