army props for Melb hire?

Those nice to know things about your DSLR will be found here. How to do this, and why you probably should not do that.

army props for Melb hire?

Postby Oz_Beachside on Sun Aug 12, 2007 10:37 am

anyone have access to, or own, some old army gear they could lend/rent out for a shoot? I have access to a spitfire and a WW2 jeep, for a shoot later in the year, but before that one I want to put together a small set, in the bush, with a few props.

the kind of things I am looking for are;
    camo netting
    camo scarf/mesh
    old small backpack (military issue type, not commercial)
    belts with knife pouches (not ammo belt backs)
    replica or decommisioned firearms
    ammo cases (old school style, wood, or metal)

picture a bit of bond girl meets lara croft scene...

I know I can purchase some of this stuff, but its adding up, and wondered if anyone in here has any of this sort of stuff in there garage. Melbourne I can pick up if any luck :D

How many members have rung the terrorist hotline? :D :D :D :D

Have you tried the nearest military museum? Perhaps an army reserve museum...they have tons of this stuff gathering dust. Check yellow pages 'army museums' and chat up the idle staff. :D

I am led to believe that behind the Richmond Hotel is a good spot for that kind of thing. I think i read that in 'The Age.'
