how to blue tone?Hello brains trust,
wondering if anyone in here knows a nice easy (but quality result) to produce a "blue tone" result in Photoshop? searched my scott kelby book, CS help, google, and in here but no joy yet. all i have at the moment is using temperature on RAW... thanks in advance Bruce
Re: how to blue tone?as in monochromatic but with a blue tone?
a cheap way, possibly nasty, is to de-saturate and then go to adjust Hue/Saturation and click on Colorize. Adjust the hue to suit. Hassy, Leica, Nikon, iPhone

Re: how to blue tone?thanks wayne, and pleased to know that you answer to "brains trust"
Re: how to blue tone? For monotone images...If you have CS3 (or presumably CS4), I'd create an adjustment layer with the "Black and White" option, then click "Tint" and adjust the hue and saturation with that. The advantage of this as opposed to creating a monotone with "desaturate" is that you can adjust the strength of the rendered monotonic RGB channels in the image
For color images you can use a "Color Balance" adjustment layer Just a random image I put these effects on. Lots of sliders to hone it to the way you want. Not sure whether that's what you are looking for or not. Cheers Last edited by shakey on Tue Jan 20, 2009 10:08 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Re: how to blue tone?If you go into adjustments menu, in there is a "Photo Filter" option which gives you a range of digital colour filters to apply, including that blue you are after.
Re: how to blue tone?Bruce,
Do you have an example of what you're after? If you do, it'd provide a better indication on how to achieve it. Right now it's a bit pie in the sky. Hassy, Leica, Nikon, iPhone
