hi! just want to ask, is it possible to turn off (temporarily or switch to standby mode) our SB-800 or any other external flash from our D70? Because sometimes there are shots where I dont want to use flash, I usually turn off my SB-800, is there any other way to tell our SB-800 not to fire? :)

Quick and dirty way? Either remove it from the camera (if not in commander mode) or cover the sensor so it doesn't fire. I'm sure there's a more elegant way though...

Ast,

Other than switching the flash off, you may be out of luck. I have looked and tried also. Nothing.

Cheers

What sensor? Once the SB-800 attached to the D70 hotshoe, the camera automatically link to the flash (The flash's on) if you cover its sensor, it still fire once you hit the shutter release button.
Only remove it off the hotshoe or switch it off manually.
