For thinkPic, Gary and members who may interested in it:

Some thoughts from other owner:

I bought the 105mm f/2D DC AF when it first hit the market. I regularly shoot face and/or upper body portraits at wide apertures with the CD control set to shift apparent DoF slight forward. I am extremely pleased with the results. I also occasionally over-compensate with the DC control -- shifting it all the way forward and then shooting at either f/2 or f/2.8. This gives almost a glamour effect to edges.

Two caveats: 1) You cannot see the DC effect in the viewfinder -- especially if you are experimenting with over-compensation, shoot a couple of frames normally as a safety measure; and, 2) You must RE-FOCUS AFTER you set the DC control (or let AF handle it for you).
