I'll be interested to see how it compares to RawShooter.

Seems to me like it is a different kind of program to Rawshooter. This one is much more a viewer (fast and cheap) than Rawshooter which is more akin to Bibble or NC one of the other editors.

Thanks Jonesy - I'll download it tonight and see how it goes. Seems like it may be more beneficial than RawShooter - which is a nice bit of kit but duplicates a lot of stuff NCE does anyway. I like the idea of a quicker viewer/organiser.

I like this one but can't work out why it's showing my D70 shots as taken by my Kodak LS443 in the EXIF! I can't find anything in the settings to fix it. Other RAW viewers correctly identify the camera used.

What the..?

Just went in again (30min since first posting) and now it won't show EXIF dat for any of my NEF images. Boy this thing is glitchy! Shame, it's got a great look and interface.

Problems:
There seems to be a strong yellow colorcast (much like Picasa 2!) in the full-size image. It's not in the thumbnail though.

Fix it:
Go into the RAW settings and uncheck 'Quick, low quality color' and also check off 'use auto white balance'. Yellow Cast is now gone

A very quick look - and I like it so far. Easy to use and to view images. Like the ability to look at exif info so easily - something I have not been able to do with the software I have been using.

Thansk very much

PERFORMANCE PROBLEM WITH COMPUTER

Postby Wombat124 on Mon Mar 07, 2005 8:25 pm

I am not sure if this is related to downloading this software, however, I am now experiencing real performance problems with my computer. When I launch Fasttone I can't close it even thru Task Manager - I have had to switch my computer off (twice now!) manaully - every time I open it. With Fastone I can't lview files within Folders as the computer just freeezes up. I am using XP (Home).

Everything else has also slowed down - it took me three attempts to get back onto Internet Explorer and open D70 Forum (via broadband). I have not had these problems before - and this commenced straight after I download Faststone. I agree that this could be a coincident!!! But....

I may have to unistall it and try again - I will see what happens
