Two images from Newcastle BeachTwo pictures took in New Castle last week.

It's one word Newcastle NOT New Castle (you can tell I'm a local can't you ) The first shot is really good - I especially like the seagull in the lower corner. The large rocky outcrop in the first shot and behind Jean in the second is called Nobby's. The lighthouse on top has been used to guide shipping into the harbour ever since Newcastle has been a shipping port (way back in the 1800's) Peter

Peter,
Thanks for correction. Newcastle is really a port with long history. I don't have time to walk to the lighthouse and touch it. My cousin told me it seems near but needs long walk. Isn't it? I think that the air in Australia is super clean and long distance looks shorter. We have bad air in HK. --------------- Regards Poon
Poon I'm glad you enjoyed it in Newcastle as well as Sydney. Maybe next visit you can take a day or so to visit birddog at Boat Harbour and we could do some sightseeing.

Peter,
Wow, it is beautiful. It is busy in summer time. You know many places of Newcastle. I will be lucky enough if you can be my guide in my next visit there. Any picture of your birthday party? I am curious to see the special BBQ birthday party in a farm. ----------------- Regards Poon
Sheepie has posted some pics part way down the page in this thread, but has lots more to put up when he gets back from Melbourne next weekend. Birddog took some pics too. Don't know if they were good enough for public consumption though
