Yes...it's a photo of our innkeeper that I took last year on a trip to Molvania. Funny guy, though ...didn't speak much, just grunted a lot. I last saw him leading a band of villagers on a torch-lit run through the forest.

I like the way no-one has put 'what's an avatar'

It show that everyone here takes polls seriously - different from 'donkey voting' But then again, donkey votes usually occur when no good choices can be made, in politicians for example :)

The donkey vote is either where people select the first choice, or write 1 2 3 4 etc down the page in preferential voting.

So maybe there has been a strong donkey vote :?

Yep. That's my bike. Triumph Sprint ST on the Lyell highway, Tasmania. You want windy roads - go there!
I chose this photo because it's one I'm not likely to get bored of. I'm lazy like the rest of us that can't be bothered changing it.
Taken with an Olympus C770 before I owned the Nikon.
I'm planning to get a big bit of foam for the kit box in the back so I can make cutouts for the camera gear. 2 passions combined!

This is a self portrait, of sorts, taken with my Nikon FTn (circa 1973) which my dad gave to me. This was taken into one of those circular magnifying make-up mirrors belonging to my fiancée. Not at all to do with the D70, or even digital for that matter, apart from being scanned on a Cannoscan film scanner.

Well, someone trying to BBQ my friends, the difference is negligable.

My latest avatar change is actually a picture taken by a friend at last year's Amberley airshow. My brother was an F111 pilot and instructor back in the 80s and my family and I have a real affinity for them.

Yep, it was one of the first I took with my D70 and the first image I posted on D70Users. The image is nothing special but a certain sentimental attachment. BTW, why can't I vote in the poll??

Good question John. I don't know - I think I set it up never to expire when I created it. Maybe this is an artifact of the recent forum move.

No.... but I would love to meet this dude and take a photo of my own.
Rockabilly is my other passion and Brian Setzer (dude in pic) is the king of modern Rockabilly...in my opinion of course.

Thanks for asking though.....

I'd never heard of Brian Setzer until Leigh (nnnnsic) introduced me to his big band orchestra (which I think he moved onto after his rockabilly days). Now I'm a convert - great in the car!
