A BIG thanks to all the regular members!I feel it is right to congratulate and personally thank all the regular members of this wonderful forum.
The reason for this heartfelt gesture stems from a recent 2nd hand lens search I did. A particular member of this forum (I won't mention names but they know who they are) saw a post I made and sent me a PM. After a phonecall the particular individual suggested that I might like to try the lens for a week before I decided to buy it. This shocked me , its bizarre to see such trust from a person who has never met me before, let alone know what my ethics are. But the reason he gave, and the reason for this post was: "The D70users (dslr) is a good bunch of people, I have no worries trusting anyone from the forum" I have taken a little bit of artistic license with the quote as I cannot remember exactly what the person said but it goes to show what a wonderful forum everyone has here at their disposal. Not just for the content on the pages but for everything that goes beyond that; the overwhelming generosity that people have, the events that people are eager to give their time to, not to mention the prizes that a certain member offers up for competitions, the list goes on. So I offer my thanks to everyone here, it is an honor to be a tiny part of it. Ed. p.s. Sorry for the ramble
Ed, I know what you mean. It amazes me the good spirit that exists in these forums. At every meet and every gathering - there is an amazing level trust, openness and honesty that is unmatched anywhere else in our community these days. I don't think we're held together on these forums by the common interest of photography alone...
On the other hand, it's heartbreaking for me to hear of losses our fellow members experience through theft/loss, or in one case as a result of assault. We've done good so far - the core 'spirit' within this community is still retained with some 1100 odd members and growing. Let's hope this spirit never cease.
