Great shots, especially #2 with the contrasting colours. I'm hoping to get into some macro work myself. Well done.

:) Bob.

Yes, I like the second one too. You can see all the pollen around the flower in the middle. Good shot Mikhail.

Mikhail

While #1 is very good, #2 is great - a nice sharp pic, well framed and absolutely beautiful colours.

Hi Mikhail,

I love the 2nd shot, the choice of focus is great.
The 1st shot is very good, however I feel like squinting and my eyes get
confused about the focus.
So you know, I'm wearing multi focals which can be a problem.

Cheers,
CD

Thanks people!

Christian, it isn't easy to shot handheld macro :) So, focus is at about the center of the 1st shot (slightly left of center) when I was trying to focus further right

Yes Mikhail, handheld is a challenge with natural available light.
Also the movement of the camera that will naturally occur makes it very difficult to precisely set the DOF.
What type of focussing did you use ? (manual or auto ?)
Did you use a flash by any chance ?

Love to have a macro lens ...

Regards,
CD

I didn't use flash this time. Auto focus AF-S as I' don't trust my eyes too much with small D70 viewfinder. Sometimes I'm playing with AF-C which helps in some situations. Probably, with good tripod and focusing slider it'd be easy enough to use manual focusing
