eBay Bidding

Out of interest, what is the go with bidding? I thought once you bid you couldn't retract a bid. I had a bid on an item I was selling and I just checked now and it's not there. I was under the impression you couldn't remove bids.

I have once retracted a bid.

That was because I had accidently entered the wrong amount in. At that time, I believe that you had to re-enter another bid within a certain time frame.

There were some conditions attached to retracting a bid but unfortunately, I can't remember what they were.

Tah as it sort of got me spoked as to whether it was a glitch in the system or if the bidder had been barred for some other reason.
