Sacred Kingfisher

Having a bit of a slow patch recently and haven't gone out to take any bird photos. Basically because if I'm out and about, I'll take a photo even though it won't fill the frame sufficiently enough and my shutter count is high so I wan't to conserve.

Here is a photo of a Sacred Kingfisher. Biggest hates about it, is that it's captive. Second biggest hate is the bokeh. Third biggest hate is the lighting. Not sure why I even bothered to post it.

Well Darryl

Despite all the "hates" it's still a good shot of a beautiful bird. You should be happy to have the shot. Where the hell are there captive kingfishers?

Stubbsy, Toronga Zoo in an enclosure that you can walk through. They had a couple of them that you could walk around amongst the birds.

Photo was taken with the 70-200VR with TC1.7IIE.

So it's a decent size I guess. I just had this vision of a bird in a small cage.
