There is a tulip festival in Melbourne from Sep14-Oct12.
Flipfrogs tulip photos inspired me to look for an event in Vic :)

Darryl

i went last year on a sunday, if you want to photograph tulips only, try early morning, by lunch time it becomes too hectic.

but i will consider going again this year....

Yep, I wanted to mainly do a few shots of like long lines/fields of tulips with a decent sky bg. Also some windmill shots.

Early morning, late at night would probably be best. Lighting might get too ordinary any other time.

Might spend the later half of the day taking photos of the billy.

Tesselaar's can have lots of subjects: in the fields, in the garden and greenhouses, and even people shots when they get dressed up and do the dutch dancing/etc.
I second the advice to get there as early in the morning as you can!

If you're going to get down low to take shots: be prepared for the mud!

Just pray for some blue sky and very little wind (both of which didn't go my way last time I was there...).

Shame there isn't an emoticon with a big middle finger raised.
