Umm, I don't think so... Nikon press release is out, just some new coolpix models, no D200.

Johndec, with whole respect, please read the thread before.

This is what I said, D200 will not be released at 1.09 and it is not. Gstark knew better, he had an invitation ;-)

Methinks krpolak didn't get an invitation.

I may not have an invitation, but as Practise perfectly shows an invitation does not give you any advantage over people who are able to hear what birds in Germany sings.

And at the end of day 1.09 it was me, who was right about D200 realising at the time, not you.

Er, can you say that you are wrong?

That you are totally wrong, my little poobah??

You've obviously not yet seen our thread on the D200 launch today.

Complete with photos.

Oh yes, and where in the world do you get off, telling me that I'm judging people?? Please show me, precisely, where I made such a judgement!

Sorry  The way you phrased the post made it appear that way...

Show me. Where is the body? Where is the specification? This is expected to see on profesional release product, not few shot from hell knows what? Even if you have a change to have a camera in your hands for me is not oficial release. It is you being beta tester, that is it.

Oh yes, and where in the world do you get off, telling me that I'm judging people?? Please show me, precisely, where I made such a judgement!

I recond, every inteligent person reading out conversation in this thread two day ago will have the same impression. I am not going to argue with that. If you cannot see that you cannot see.

Sorry gstark, but I really value people who are able to admit their mistakes, whatever they are president, brickleyers or side admins.

From my point of view basicly that is the end of topic.

Did you look at Gary's D200 launch link. I suspect not given your response. Please have a look at the link. It's quite a good read

Actually, you would do well to remember whose site this is. I would respectfully suggest that it is you that needs to take some care about how far they are going. :)

Excuse me??

Please show precisely where, at any point within this thread, either Leigh or myself mentioned that we were discussing a camera?

I have certainly not mentioned within this thread that we were discussing a camera, and neither had Leigh. In fact, yesterday I went on record suggesting that it may have been a boat, and Leigh mentioned his surprise at its size.

If you happenned to get yourself caught in our little trap, so be it. :)

Intelligent? Or perhaps gullible?

Actually, and hopefully, both, IMHO.

And perhaps it's time for you to accept that you've been fooled. Hook, line, and sinker, I'd say.

Remember, this forum is about having fun. I'm certainly enjoying myself, and I'm certainly having fun. Please now look at Leigh's syDney2000 thread, for a little more background. I suspect that Leigh enjoyed this as well. :)

Sorry gstark, but I really value people who are able to admit their mistakes, whatever they are president, brickleyers or side admins

Yep. Absobloodylutely.

And with that profound statement of your's, I would strongly recommend that you follow your own advice and admit your mistake.

There was certainly no mistake here on our part, when having deliberately set out to fool a few people, and by seeing your reaction, we have quite clearly succeeded.

I think the D200 is being modified to be better than the Canon 5D (too close in specs maybe...) and will be released end of 2005 :(

And I remain you that that you dont have any right to offend me, whatever you are president, bricklayer or site admin. It can cost you a bit, if you dont get it so far.

And please, dont blame my English and dont move the goal posts. I pointed you clearly in this thread that you were wrong as well as I pointed you in thread about lenses resolution where you where wrong and where you should go to increase your technical knowlegde.

Read more carefully what people write before you will write your response.

And have a guts to say 'sorry'. Twice.

First because we were wrong about D200 release date.

And secondly because you called me "little poobah"

K.Polak PS As I said, for me that is EOT. There is not point to mess it up with personal issues. So please, don't answer here any more.

Krystian...

In case you hadn't realised... the whole "2 Days To D200" was a joke... not intended to actually be believed in or bragged about if we were wrong.

If we were right well then YAY!

But we figured we'd be wrong and it was done only as joke.

Get over it.

And let me assure you that I have taken great pains to be careful to not say anything offensive.

How you interpret what I say is entirely beyond my control however, but if you're here for any purpose other than to have fun, then you need to revisit your motives. Please also be more careful with your words; a less forgiving person might think you are trying to threaten me.

But my best advice to you is that you reactivate your GSOH module.

And please, dont blame my English and dont move the goal posts. I pointed you clearly in this thread that you were wrong as well as I pointed you in thread about lenses resolution where you where wrong and where you should go to increase your technical knowlegde.

Actually, you're wrong on all counts.

First of all, I have never blamed your English capabilities for anything. I have said that I understand that English may not be your native language.

Second, I have not moved any goal posts: right from the outset this thread was set up to bring some people, too closely focussed on a vapourware, unannounced camera, back to earth. That you walked into the trap is none of my concern, but it was a part of my goals.

You've been trapped. You've been caught.

That's how it is.

Get over it, move on.

Third, you have not proven a single damn thing in the resolution thread. If you bothered to look at the references that you gave, you might have observed one of them quoted absolute resolution values of double the values that you quoted. Care to explain that little anomaly?

Actually, I'd prefer that you didn't bother; my point was that statements needed to be backed up with with references and not be unsupported. That is true whether I'm supplying the information, or you are.

As further evidence of the truism that you should not simply believe unsupported statements, especially when presented on the Internet, I could probably supply to you this whole thread. :)

Read more carefully what people write before you will write your response.

That's one hell of a statement coming from somebody who took a whole lot of unstated implications into this thread.

Again: where, within this thread, have I ever stated that it referred to a camera?

Unless and until you can show me such evidence, you should accept that you have been taken hook, line, and sinker.

Again, learn to laugh. If you're not lauging, then you here for all of the wrong reasons, and you need to reevaluate your motives.

And have a guts to say 'sorry'. Twice.

First because we were wrong about D200 release date.

I wasn't wrong. I had a clear idea of this joke right from the get go. That you were trapped was a part of my point. Get over it.

And secondly because you called me "little poobah"

Oh ... you poor little darling .... I was actually feeling quite benevolent. Given that a "poobah" is a ruler, I'm curious as to how you feel so offended by it.

Again, stop taking yourself so damn seriously. It's not worth it!

And especially not here.

Hello sir! I'd been busy with my PhD (which I've submitted on Wednesday). Don't worry - will be heading to one of the mini-meet soon with a friend who is a pro (still using D100  ). Too bad I can't make this Sat's meet. :(

Congrats Andoru. Must have taken some time. :D

I finished mine last year and boy was the writting of the thesis tough. The reviewers are pretty cool for my thesis.

I have only seen 1 truely negative review where the student was asked to continue with more research. Very harsh person, prob got out of the wrong site of the bed. Anyway, the other 2 balanced it out, so there is nothing to worry about.

What is the thesis on if you dont mind me asking?

Looks as if the reduction in D2Hs price may be making way for a replacement at a price point of around $4,000
