This article:

also makes it fairly clear that the D200 is still vapourware....

"Nikon will also introduce its Nikkor lenses, Speedlights, system accessories, and software at the show."

Maybe there're new lenses and speedlights will be introduced as per above lines, so what? new replacement of the SB800? and new range of lens?

Take it easy John!
You'll see it soon in the early of 2006! but for anyone who can't wait till then, they have to go for the D2x or jump ship to the other side.
It seems to me they are pushing hard the D2x/ D70s/ D50 atm.

A lot of disappointed people.

I think the rumour at the moment is a D200 announcement in November, otherwise it will be PMA.

All the same, the new point and shoots look quite innovative with the inbuilt wifi (how useful it is in reality is another matter).
I also quite like the classic swivel design of the S4.

Ahh, well.
Keep saving for the D200.

Is that what Nikon try to push the D2x harder? and now people have to live with it, what can you do? jump ship? or order a D2x?

Don't you know the price of D2x may be changed soon at Maxwell stock?due to the weakness of our dollar and other factor in transport.

Birdy, I'm not really all that bothered although I was very curious... As I mentioned in another thread, the D70 is still a better camera than I am a photographer. If and when the D200 appears, if it only has a D70 style viewfinder and 3 fps, I wouldn't buy it anyway.

John,
I totally agreed! you haven't learned all the pros and cons from the D70 yet and the D70/70s can bring you more great photos with all level of skills, I don't think it bother you to look further in the next 12 months!
