Auto FP High SpeedI would like to use the Auto FP High Speed function with my SB 800 and D70 but I'm not sure how to access this (if indeed it is possible). Any one know how to do this? Thanks, Alan
Benno,
Can you refresh my memory as to what this feature does? I suspect that it's the high speed fill function (for outdoors on bright, sunny days just like today - and as illustrated in the SB800 manual) and if so, I'm not actually sure that the D70 supports that mode. g.

replyI just did some searching around and it looks like the feature is not available with the D70. The top shutter speed available is 500th of a second. Still, that's pretty fast, and if you reduce the asa you could still achieve a very shallow depth of field in bright conditions.

Alan,
That's what I thought. But you may want to check the posts here over the last few days; by covering the two rearmost cetral contacts on the hotshoe mount, you can force the D70/SB800 combo to high speed flash synch using the digital shutter. That, plus your histograms, should be enough to get you going down this path. g.
