BBJ, you're looking at 2.8K for second hand AFSII. Not sure what condition though. If it was in mint condition I'd say around $4k.

redline,
Yes, it's, the 300 AF-S II is top fast speed in comparison with the AF-I. Especially once you mounted it on the D2 series.

Yes would be a good lens to have but, unless i could save money on the camera could go towards the a 300 AF-S. I have been looking at camera and lens +tc to suit. Thats it, that is going to be my goal and well i dont intend to sell another motobike to get the xtra. I know it would be good to have but well i think i would get shot. She who must be obeyed already thinks well not think knows i got rocks in my head for wanting to spend that much on a camera.LOL But if i wait off like i intend to who knows.
I wont go into debt or live beyond my means as if i was single wouldn't be too bad but i am not so yeh she has bigger boots than me.

Peronally I'd sell off the 80-400VR / 70-200 F2.8 EX and the 70-300G lens to help fund a 300MM prime. However that's just me :)

Youre dead right mate, we have like a big axe hangin over our heads and could swing anytime. Between the Boss and the Kids i have to be carefull as i get ganged up on.

Darryl i would not sell, the 80-400 or the 70-200 as they are very handy to have for when you dont need the reach and for walk around. I do like to shoot other things as well so couldn't imagine rocking up at the school concert or something with a 300mm prime. This is part of the reason why i looked at the 120-300 as i have been in places even with the 70-200 where i have to stand back to take the shot, not if you are limited for room and subjects are close with the zoom range u have some chance.

I will sell the 70-300g as no use anymore, but yeh i think the others are worth keeping.

The AF version which is BBJ mentioned is not lot faster than the AF-I, very minimal noticeable between the two lenses

Birdy i jeep showing Lisa the door everytime she moans about my addiction, so yeh she doesn't take the hint and beside's that i get a rather sore arm at these moments so i try not to tell her too often. Really she is pretty good to put up with me, but i could be worse and like drink like a fish and live at the pub or something.

Well it was bloody nice to get out on the bike again, temp 22c sunny and was very enjoyable and i have a weekend off from photos so Sunday i will go for a ride with my fellow Ulyssians.

I have this weekend off and then off to Adelaide next friday for doctors, then back saturday for motoX sunday, also Go-Karts but i might have to let Jonesy tackle that one unless i do 1/2 day at each.
