20,000th D70 Image

I just shot my 20,000th image with my poor D70.

I bought it on June 1 2004 poor little thing the first outing was a month long trip from Maroochydore to Cooktown and back.

It's first commercial job was a coal mine shoot.

It has been on boats, on beaches, everywhere a camera should never go.

As a final insult I dropped it from waist hight onto a concrete footpath last month, It's still working fine.

As I have said before this camera is making me work too hard!!!!



Maybe Margo's D70s will take some pressure off.

Well I'm up to 19,983 and mine was bought in December 2004. It won't have earnt it's keep for at least another year (but I have 3 years warranty)

Its life can be extend beyond that mileage, 48753 shots which I had seen few weeks ago from one of my customer.

I bought mine in Nov 2004, and have about 16,000-17,000. Have slowed down of late.

There are lot happy campers among few disappointed D70's owners.

I knew lot of happy photogs coming back to me and have lot of wonderful words about their toys, but rarely heard the opposite side.

Anyway, The D70 is not the pro body but it's the finest DSLR in its range and brought to each of its owner heap of stunning & magnificient photos.
Hold on to it till its time comes then looking forward to an upgrade.

Grudgingly I have to admit the D70 and D70s are bloody marvelous and have changed the way I shoot.

it gives me the fun of photography without worrying about the cost..

In http://ca.geocities.com/perfectpomsdotcom/index.html you can see his output. The point is he used his D70 to destruction of the shutter but only after 200,000 plus actuations. Gives hope for the selective camera snapper who likes to compose a picture. Most of us should have our D70's (and D70s's) for a long time.

I have been up in PNG for the Goroka show A really WILD place I will write a full report if anyone is interested when I get some time.

We have been in transit for 37 hours due to a bird strike incident.

so as soon as I catch up on sleep and washing etc

I'd love to see them. I went to the goroka show in 1996. I had my images published in a 4 page spread in the Air New Guinea in-flight magazine. They even paid me $400

I have been trying to get in contact with paradise magazine myself but they are based in Fiji now and I am getting no replies.

I will follow them up when I get a chance.

It is a really amazing thing to see so much colour and noise.

I think I may have got married to one young lass up there but as I did not pay a bride price it is probably null and void

If anyone ever gets the chance to go TAKE IT!!!!!.
