Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

John,

I like this series. Good b&w conversion, maybe except the second shot. It does not fit other because lack of contrast comparing to them.

I like your tight framing. Are they full lenght on longer edge or some of the cropped more then a bit? I am asking because I use primes and have sometimes problem with foot zooming in busy enviroment and I can imagine it was bisy there.

I really like shot with trumpet guy. The second one has a godo composition as well.

Thanks for the feedback Krystian...

You're right about the 2nd shot - it has a slightly different treatment to the rest... I still like it though...

All shots were taken with the 80-400VR...

#1 was uncropped but resized (obviously)...
#2 was cropped 10% at the top edge and 20% on the right edge...
#3 was an 80% crop slightly shifted to the left
#4 was cropped 5% at the top and 10% on the left
#5 was uncropped

I think the second shot is interesting because:

1. The guy, he has original apperance

2. He is placed in boxy background

3. He does his job freely. That is catching.

4. Slight move out of center work for composition even if large box in top-left corner spoils balance

5. Could be good to have microphone lower so it would be more distinctive.
