Back from Zambia

Postby Nicole on Tue Sep 13, 2005 8:10 am

Well it feels like we were gone forever (which is nice!) but I'm back in Melbourne again. So cold when we got back late yesterday considering we had been used to 35 plus weather every day. I started looking at my photos last night and it's going to take me forever to get through them all! Dust was ever present but the camera and lens never failed me so that was good. I clicked over the 10,000 mark whilst over there. Beanbag came in handy whilst in the car but walking I used the camera handheld.

Had a fantastic time and saw lots of great animals and birds. Did lots of walking and had some interesting encounters with lions and elephants whilst out. Just enough to get the adrenaline going! It truly is a wild place and the animals are quite skittish compared to other countries we have been to in the past. The camps were great and everyone very friendly and helpful. Watch out for lots of lion cub photos as I had a real soft spot for them! :D

Don't have - correct (old one expired a year or two ago)
Can't afford - wrong. When it's time to go OS I'll get one

Maybe visit China (#1 on my want to visit list) via Africa (#2) when I'm richer

Nicole, it's great to hear you had a wonderful trip. Melbourne must feel very surreal now that you are back. I just had a look at the four pics you posted elsewhere and they are great. I am going to enjoy viewing your other selections over the next few weeks as i'm sure we all are.
Steve.
