USPS Tracking system Q

Postby Hlop on Tue Sep 13, 2005 9:02 am

I'm waiting for a delivery and tracking system says:
Label/Receipt Number: EV64.........
Guaranteed Delivery Date: September 13, 2005
Status: International Dispatch

Your item left the United States from LOS ANGELES AMC at 2:35 pm on September 09, 2005. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.

But this state hasn't been changed for 3 days. It can not flight for 3 days - LA - Sydney just about 15 hours :) I thought they aren't changin' it during weekend but it's Monday there and status wasn't changed again :(

Should I contact someone (USPS, Australia Post, Australia custom)? Or should I just relax and wait?I should say I don't really trust to this statement: "Guaranteed Delivery Date: September 13, 2005"

You can track it here:
http://ice.auspost.com.au/

Normally, everything come out from LAX to Sydney, you have to expect from 3 -5 days by USPS EMS, don't rely on those infos from USPS or any info from LAX, parcel sent from the US always got delayed by security at LAX.

Once you've seen it at the local AP website then you know your order is landed into Australia.
Be patient, you can't win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Birddog!

I don't gamble with government - it's impossible to win :)

This sounds much better:
Your item arrived at the international processing centre in (SYDNEY) at 13:33 on 11 Sep 2005, and is awaiting clearance for delivery processing.

That's from the link you gave me :)

If you don't have it this morning! then I'm sure you'll have to see the Boys in Blues and have a friendly chat with them or go straight to Granville, ACS Sydney Gateway to pay the ransom and self picked-up.
If your order is valued more than AU$1K, then a form from ACS needed to be declared and signed + $45.00 Customs Fees on top of your payable GST.
Prior to do the above, give AP a call on their toll free number and ask for a reference number start with Nxxxxxxxxx and then talk to ACS first, to see if it's available for clearance or not.

Finally, it's been delivered! As I'm not in Sydney and can not open it and I can't tell for sure without checking it personally :) But I seems to be an owner of RRS BH-55LR and Gitzo 1325 with 1321 leveling base :)

Welcome to the club!
This venture took a damage from you nearly 2K or at 2k with GST! You'll be a happy camper with this setup.

I still recalled not long ago at the Jenolan Cave excursion, you mentioned, your ex-tripod is still doing good job for you and you didn't think switching to the new system worth it! Now you did!

you should be awarded the bravery medal
