Eastern Water Dragons - (5 photos)I photographed these today when I went for a walk. I didn't have a tripod, so these photos were taken handheld, and from a bit of a distance away.
Here he is jumping off a stump. If I knew he was gonna do that, I would have used a faster shutter Here's a young one. As soon as I took the photo, it jumped away into the bushes, so unfortunately I couldn't reshoot a sharper photo. I'll just post one more in case dialup users are getting upset with me. I've got several more though. Doug C.
My 12 year old son and his mates catch them with the aid of one of his mates dog. They are beautifull animals, usually full of ticks, easily removed nevertheless to quick for me.
shoot it real.

Hi Andrew, thanks for your comment. For some reason my exif is blank in the "focal distance" of these shots, I don't know why that is. The exception is the photo of the young dragon where the focal distance is 2.21m. I remember I was quite close to that one. It ran away quickly when I came across it. The others were around 6m away. I'm comparing to the length of my loungeroom wall, they were a similar distance away. If only I could be about 2 meters away... with a tripod... and I could ask them to just turn their heads a little to get a bit more light on the side of the head... if only I had a faster lens with VR..
