I use it with a Sigma 150 macro and find it to be quite nice. It has the capability of using one or two bulbs for shadow control. You can do modeling and the light is not flat looking like the older units or the current Nikon ringlight. With a GN 0f 14 it works nicely as a fill light in some situations. Highly recommended.
