Last burst of Winter (snow pics)Went up to Mt Donna Buang yesterday afternoon to experience the last of winter before things begin to warm up a little! Not fantastic pics, but you get an idea of the conditions! Brrrrrrrrrr!
It was covered in cloud and terribly windy, the snow was almost horizontal. A great sight.....but damn cold! And yes, my poor D70 was covered in snow. I'm still attempting photoshop, and the colours are a little wishy washy, but I've decided snow isn't that easy to photograph, especially with all the cloud around.....very foggy.
Jane
Thanks for these (although I'm feeling a little chilly now!) The last one is a corker. Great composition witht eh isolated tree trunk standing out beautifully from the background. Peter

The first and the last are stand outs for me...
The first makes me shiver and the last is a terrific image, just crop or clone out the stray bits of what looks like grass or something??? Terrific feel to these... Aka Andrew
Jane, those are some great pics! The first one is my pick.
Hassy, Leica, Nikon, iPhone
Come follow the rabbit hole...
I like them all Jane and I'm very jealous of all that lovely blustery cold... I live in the wrong state!!
Snow is an art in itself when it comes to photography and there are others here who would be better equiped to give you any pointers in that regard. For me, though, I think they're all good though I think the first one really tells the temperature story. Good stuff. Simon

Thanks everyone for your comments!
Marvin- Yes it was cold, wind was blowing the snow everywhere! TonyH- Yes, I agree shooting snow is tough, trying to get a good pic while protecting the camera and trying to stay warm! Stubbsy- Thanks! I like the last one too! Mudder- Thanks! I like the first one as well, and I agree with you with the cloning and cropping....a bit lazy! Piro- Thanks! Manta- Thanks! I don't get up to the snow that often, but was lucky enough to be there twice this season (both day trips), and it snowed both times....love it!
