Adelaide and Perth Combined?

Postby bouyant_clown on Mon Sep 19, 2005 2:55 pm

Whats with the new combination of Adelaide and Perth???
Punishment for the Eagles beating the Crows or something?
To me it makes little sense! the two cities are a huge distance apart! It is unlikely that information in relation to the photography comunity in one area would be of assistance to the other group!

I think it might have more to do with the quantity of forum members in each city.

Go the Eagles, and the Fury...... :)

Rationilisation. Still the spot to look for local meets etc, just now there might be a post for Perth for example as well as your state. Still less effort than looking through the general section or getting lost in the Sydney minimeets

A good idea in principle, but I fear the tyranny of distance is still an issue, I think there was a mini meet arranged last year in Kings Park, but have not heard of or seen a suggestion of another.

The cost of flying to / from Perth - Adulayde, well, I am sure we would pay the bit extra and go to HQ in Sydney for a mini meet. But I am also sure some members would convert the $'s costs to number of lenses equivilant  and perhaps think twice. :D

ROCK ON THE FORUM!!!!! :P

ps Suggestion: Next year when you all come over to try and win the trophy back we could have an "AGM" here in Perth, so no one feels the trip over was for nothing

Perth is a very low key and quiet chapter on this board! what are you guy doing? A meet won't help? a gathering of sharing and meeting new friends with the same hobby is not worth it?
Well! come on guys!!!! give it a go!!!!! then we may come to town joining you guys in a mini meet!

As Glen said, it's simply a ratioinalisation of the forum sections.

We simply have too many, and I'm looking for where I can combine some.

I note that it took nearly two weeks before anybody made a comment, which I think helps make my point that it was a reasonable decision.
