Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. Do you know how hard it is to pick an image from a two week period?
Bloody hard.
There've been so many damn good choices this week that I've been struggling to pick from.
Damn all of you for submitting such damn fine imagery in the past two weeks that made it so damn hard for me to choose (and I mean no offense by this)!
In the end, I chose Geoff's image from yesterday, an out-take from his entry in the current competition:
I've gotta say that I love this image.
While I'm not normally one for colour images, I love the mood this image evokes.
I love how it's dark, whispy and mysterious; almost as if the ghosts of the ocean walk amongst the pool itself.
Original thread is here.

Great shot Geoff, very "other worldly", beautiful colour. Excellent.
Good choice Leigh.

Excellent choice Leigh. 'Tis indeed a great pic and a worthy recipient of the first, and possibly last, POTF (Picture of the Fortnight).
Well done Geoff - may not have made it to the comp but a winning shot nonetheless. Geez, you're a hard marker if this is what you reject!

Great choice - preferred this version over the re-mix. The other version tries to be a daytime shot - this one is clearly saying this is night-time which adds to it's spookyness. Great shot and great selection.

Congrats Geoff, maybe this is a precursor that you'll do well in the challenge! A good choice as Leigh said lots of great images submitted in the last fortnight.

Same as Paul on this one - the original was far better than the attempted conversion, so congrats on this pic to Geoff and to Leigh

Agreed - a great image. When I look at it I sometimes think the expanse of black should not be there, but then again, it adds to it too I think.

Geoff - congrats, fantastic capture. It's one of those shots that inspire others (and remind me that I need to get out and practice more landscapes!)
Leigh - great choice. Again, it reflects the variety of talent we have here. The collection of past POW's is a testament to that.

Wow, wow and wow!! My first POTW!! I only stumbled across this as I saw what was meant to be the elephants and went 'hang on!!'...I am very genuinely surprised. Normally the recipient of POTW gets a notification email making sure it's ok to publish it as POTW...but I don't care..what an honour!!! Thanx everyone Will post some EXIF data and how I set the shot up later this afternoon/evening when I get home from work.
