If in the future I happen to get a D200 or D2X or D2hs

My 17-55 DX Lens won't Feng Shui with them ?

I believe the DX will only work properly with a non full frame camera.

So Matt,

The D70 is 1.5 Crop Factor right ? which the 17-55 works well with being DX ?

The others are full frame so there is none of this multiplying stuff going on right ?

Thats what I believe,

But I think the Dx lens on a full frame give CA on the fringes cause of there design for the crop factor.
My kit lens 18-70DX in the info that came with says that it is not compatible with my F65 film camera for this reason.

As such I have only purchased non DX lenes(50 1.8 and 24-120VR).

The was some descussion on this board about off loading DX lenses before the D200 is released with its full frame.

Not sure on the D2X either I had a feeling it had the crop factor type sensor.

I'm sure someone will pop in with a definitive answer.

Mic,

with the quality of pics you're taking, dont' worry too much because by the time the D200 or a ff cam is released by Nikon, you'll have enough $$ to get a replacement.

Also to offset the cost, you can palm the 17-55 to one of us chumps who can't afford it yet

There are, at this time, no full frame Nikon DSLRs, either in production, or proposed.

Each of your DX lenses will fit all current and announced (as at today) Nikon DSLR cameras.

All Nikon DSLRs to date are cropped (known as DX or APS sized) sensors

A 17-55/2.8 DX will perform wonderfully on a D2X

however, due to thier smaller circle size, DX lenses will not perform well at all on a full frame camera. If and when Nikon produce one is pure speculation

That said, if it were my choice, I would save a few more pennies and go for the 28-80/2.8 as it is a wonderfull wonderfull lens
