Birddog, can I come and play too? Also, I need to pick up that bottle I dropped off many, many moons ago.

Need to get a camera clean demo again....and another look at what people are using for spatulas. I've got to be a big girl and clean this sensor sometime soon.

cheers

Who said that?
Yes, of course you can! but once you put your name down then you have to come! No excuse!

As you mentioned last time, you'll be at the mini meet and collect your bottle of methanol but you didn't show up, so I wondered if it'll happen again? I hesitate giving confirmation to any member, who pulled out at the last minutes or didn't show up as planned.

Pls. note: due the large number of member, who wants to attend the mini meet but there're some restriction with room/ space, and logistic, food & drink preparation, I have to limit to the maximum of number is 20.

Hope everyone understand! I'm happy to see and meet all of you if I know beforehand you're sure to make it.

If you look at the post I made for that meet (20th August) I said I "might" just pop in for the bottle, nothing else, as my son had his final soccer match on that day. As it turned out, I couldn't get there and as I was just coming for the 2 mintues it would take to get the bottle off you, it didn't seem like such a big deal.

As I have children and as such my plans can be shot down just 3 seconds to leaving to go anywhere, I will bow out of the meet on saturday and will arrange separately with you to collect the bottle of methanol through the week.

Deb,

Please don't get me wrong! I generally mentioned to all our members, not at you or any individual.

I had few experiences with huge prepared foods from us and cakes from Joet + Chryssine left over, coz I got the big number of people wanted to come at the beginning, but finally only 5 shown up, just a disappointing of such of wasting all our efforts and resources which we volunteered to contribute to the community without any asking from all of you any returns.
We just want the tied and closed relationships between our fellow members same as sharing the friendships, camaraderies, knowledges, spirits. Nothing more or less.

I have to bring it up coz I would like to make all understand, we are here to serve and happily to welcome all of you, only one thing I would like to ask: Your present at the mini meet along with your confirmation is greatly appreciated!

Birddog

it's fine, truly. i understand why you need numbers (excuse my typing wriggling child on lap).

I just can't guarantee my presence on weekends...things happen with kids ( at least mine) and i don't always get where i want to on time.......let someone go who can.

I need to be out on friday will pm you re picking the bottle up then.

seriously its ok.

deb

edited to add: If I seemed a bit snippy I want to apologise. I lost a friend last saturday night to a stupid car accident, I am still feeling a bit tender and touchy, so I didn't mean to snap at anyone.

Gosh - the number of replies to this thread have been huge. Are we over the 20 limit yet?

I'm keen to show my ugly mug for the first time as well, so if there's still room - please ADD ME TO THE LIST !!!

Sad to hear of your friend. Unexpected loss is always the hardest to deal with. Take care.

Hey Glen... AUD$ not quite as strong as back in March... but doing probably better than it deserves... China and interest rates will keep it steady for the minute round the mid to high 70s... but if the US and USD faulters then all bets are off as China would likely hickup and hurt our commodity boom.

Here's how we're travelling so far...

Just wondering, this will be my first mini-meet tomorrow, apart from my camera gear, should I bring anything else ? (Wife wisely said no to bundles of cash) but should I bring some food to share with everyone, seems like there will be lots of mouths to feed.

You can, it's not required however.

People often bring some food to share but it's not a requirement.

You'll probably want to bring small bundles of cash as not to lose your mind completely when you see... the collection...

Food is probably taken care of now... but feel free to bring savoury nibbles, soft drinks, beer, wine - whatever takes your fancy... Looking forward to meeting you tomorrow...

Thanks both you of you. I'll raid the cupboards and see if anything fits the bill. Unfortunately I'm on a strict budget $45 for Xmas Party and $15 for a replacement Body cap.

10 minutes ago I accidentally dropped my tripod (it was an accident), my wife thought I was trying to break it so I could get a new one tomorrow.
Sadly it didn't break. She did notice I had Birdy's price list printed out and stuck up next to my work PC, but she's conveniently ignoring my pleas for more spending money

Looking forward to see you tomorrow.
