Well, my first 'Mini-meet' since joining the forum, and what a great way to say g'day to a few fellow photographers.

Great to meet everyone there, but I have to say - If that's a 'Mini' meet, what must a 'Maxi' meet be like ??

Thanks for a great day, and thanks to Thanh for the great hospitality ! :D

Cheers

Justin

Fantastic meet, the Birddogs did us proud, and weren't those Benbo tripods amazing value? A great meeting by any standard. :)

Finally have some time to post. My 1st mini meet done and dusted and luckily for my marriage my wallet came away relatively unscathed. :D

Thanks to Birdy and Co. for organising, Leek for letting me play with his 80-400 VR, Matt for showing/cleaning my ccd, sirhc55 for showing me his 70-200 Sigma and Jenno for showing me around.

It was really good to put faces to the net nicknames.

A big hello to everybody! I've come back in from the cold after a long spell away from the forum. Several comps and many mini meets missed: though the numbers have swelled it's good to see that the spirit remains the same.
Nothing like Killa's excuse but since returning from OS I've been working offsite for long stretches with no internet access and (more recently) looking after my poor helpless girlfriend with two broken wrists. Never had any idea how much work she was doing keeping house until I had to do it all for us!!
Lots of lovely pics of Bavaria, Beijing, Barcelona, Bath and Brighton to show after our recent "B-ing there" adventure. Still trying to figure out how to put them up with a minimum of fuss via OSX. Any pointers to relevant posts would be gratefully welcomed.
Looking forward to catching up with familiar faces and meeting some new ones... can't believe the Xmas dinner is rapidly approaching. Will be there for sure...

Hey Timbo!
Now you have answered my questions

Where have you been? have you just landed from the outer space after nearly 6 months absent on this board?

Talked to Fiona the other day and I still have her 70-300 lens here.
Good to hear and hope will see you again.

Thanks Birdy. Mainly I've been busier than a blue-arsed blowfly as mentioned but I'm also saving for a wedding and was trying to keep aa lid on my spending... every time I logged on I saw some fantastic deal and temptation reared its head... as it just has with the Benro tripods and ballheads! D'oh!

And many thanks for looking after Fiona, by the way. She loves her new kit!

Can you substitute the Benro tripod and head to the diamond ring which you're going to present her?
I know you can do something about it

Put it in your museum instead of repair, that will keep the memory in real state.
So, the Diamond ring can be swapped
