Both these shots share a common theme, a sort of alone-ness in nature, even in composition they are similar the main subject featured far right.

Personally I think the waterlily works better then the first shot, but maybe with a little PP on shot 1 you could make a nice pair of photos.

Gulf of Carpentaria, Leek.
Your right Alpha I probably needed a little more exposure on the seed to highlight its form. In fact off camera flash might have worked better. Thanks for passing comment.

G'day Marco,
The first seems a little lost with the busy background and dark seed pod (you could brighten the seed pod in PP though), but the second one of the water lilly is an absolute corker!

Thanks Andrew. Lilly taken with 80-400VR. I took others of the seeds with different flash exposure comps. Need to fiddle a bit.
cheers

G'day,
Interesting that it's with the 80-400 (it's a pearler for the money huh?), couldn't get the EXIF. Interested in the focal length and aperture.

Marco. The water lily shot is great - beautifully composed.

Thank you peter. There are others I might share later.
On another point, unrelated, I just got a return email from Bjorn Rorslett after asking him when we could expect the D200, his reply, ' in December' . Anymore I cannot tell.'
Interesting for those keen on getting their hands on one. I didn't know whether to make this a new thread or not as everybody is sick to death of the speculation but he is a very reliable source as you know. I suspect he is probably testing one now, reading between the lines. Anyhow there's my bit of gossip!
