Another "What bird is this?" thread!
Taken at Indian Head camping ground this weekend (Crowdy Bay National Park, NSW)...
70-300mm lens with additional light from the SB800. *** When getting there is half the fun! ***
We have a very similar bird called a Goldfinch but I don't believe they commute to Oz. It is strikingly similar though. BTW - that's three nice shots there ... well done.

According to my birdbook it's a Golden Whistler.... Pachycephala pectoralis
Nice photos by the way. IMHO it could do with a little more detail in the black around the eye.... But I know how hard it is to get little birds right!!!! Paul http://www.australiandigitalphotography.com

Nikonuser - I'll see what I can do in PP for the eyes - may be able to retrieve some detail (these are quick edits with nothing much done other than cropping). Golden Whistler sounds about right, as this bird had a beautiful song - thanks again *** When getting there is half the fun! ***
