Subaru Mini Meet ( Darwin)

I love my Subarus and still wanted to be around them after I sold mine. So I volunteered to take picture for the emerging car club in Darwin.

Subaru driver as well

The first one doesn't really do anything for me, may be the colour of the car, not sure.

The third one is the one I prefer.

Those cars certainly are cleaner then mine

The first one is a tad underexposed and it would have been better if the Subaru badge was more in focus.

I like the last pic but maybe crop the bottom a bit as tad bit too much road. It throws the comp out a bit.

The 3rd one is my pic of choice also, well composed and nothing distracting in the background, good work and nicely down getting down low.

i would encourage you to continue to take shots like this, great captures and great stock photo works

Thanks Hmm I do miss it after that mini meet with them a friend took me there in his 03 the first blue in the picture. thats when it hit me. Had MY99, APS TMIC, Hi-Tech exhaust and microtech ECU. Do miss it don't miss it emptying my wallet. With Ultimate reaching 1.60 a litre i'm happy with my jazz. I'm really hoping the new 2.5 if its the same engine specs as the forrester they all reckon. its all good cause it takes premium that I can live with what model do you own ?

I own a stock MY99, I imagine all those go fast bits would make it pretty picky on what fuel you could use. I still think a Rex is cheaper to run then a V8 of similar performance.

Nah it was tuned on premium. had problems $50 bucks of fuel 4 days 390km Think fuel was about 1.12 litre 1 years ago. Brought it modified. Darwin be such a remote area nobody could really tune it. I was fixing previous owners mistakes than making it go faster next car will be stock as a rock

Nice shots, hope you where standing well away from that mud
I heard that since your in a colder climate you have huge brick like batteries to start them up cause of the cold ?

love the subii's - one of the quickest cars I've been in was an STi tuned to a mid 11second 1/4mile psycho machine. On a track of course. lol

only problem with them apart from fuel consumption is the cost of comprehensive insurance! ouch!

back to topic:
I like the third shot of the line-up. Afternoon pre-sunset light is actually the best to use. Try to catch the sunset reflected across the side panels of the cars you shoot, and ensure that the front wheel is turned away from you a bit. this helps to show off the brake discs and rims if they are a special type.

(sincere question) what kind of batts do you use? unless every battery up north here is beefier because of the cold, it looks to me to be the same sort in all the other cars. Subaru does offer a battery/engine block warmer as an assessory to purchase aftermarket. Those kind of things are best in places like Maine and Vermont. It's real cold there when the season is right, and it's right the majority of the year! I am in Pennsylvania, south of the really bitter weather.


and BTW, so credit goes where credit is deserved, the middle two were taken by my friend rich hand, he posts here as well. My buddy shawn snapped the top one. I snapped the last one.

Nah reason I asked was a guy uncle came to the meet and he told us how in canada he has a Liberty GT and said because of the sub zero temp they need bigger batteries to crack start the enigin...And the size he was explaining was like Double the size of what our normal batteries were.

yea in canada I would imagine they would need to. not down here. we still have the reg old batts in the neck of the woods.

did somebody mention Vermont? That's where I'd rather be than Brissy when the summer heat here really kicks in. Winter here, winter there - non stop. *sigh* lol

I have a car alarm system that can be programmed to start up the car a couple times a night in climates where you want the car's block and battery never to drop to too low a temp. Yet to install it since I've been waiting on an import japspec engine for my pulsar. Looking forward to installing it and getting to use the remote start function it uses.
