An Intimate Session With A

Tulip

Had a Macro session with a vase of Tulips my wife brought home, there are a few so this is the 1st of them that I will be showing over the week ahead.
Yes, everybody will be bored of Tulips once I finish

This one was shot with my Micro Nikkor 105mm @ F: 22 / 10 Secs under Tungsten Light ( Hence the name )

I hope you enjoy my passionate experience with my Tulips around Midnight on a Saturday night   I have to get out more I think.

Mic.

Being intimate with a tulip? I'm not sure about this fetish of yours Mic :P I hope your wife understood why you were up at midnight with a flower instead of her

Great pic nevertheless and love the effect and contrast the water droplets bring out in the tulip.

Mic

You've got bloody good haven't you. Love the detail on this and your (new) trademark black background. I can't wait for the rest in the series.

This is a great photo Mic but I'm sure you could take it one step further.
I would have liked to have seen this with out the distracting leaves/foliage/sepal on the bottom left. Would also have liked to have seen the receptacle (the green bit were the petals join the stem) of the tulip and maybe a bit more centered.

They're my only nits, the rest is spot on. Great colors, llighting, exposure and the water droplets add a nice touch.

Thanks Killa, Glad to know I'm not completly Bonkers

Thanks Kipper, I left the other bits in to make it different & off centre as well, I do agree I could have got a bit of the stem in though.

Thanks Chris, I think I have grown and moved on from the inverting stage unless I come across something that it does work on that is.

Cheers all, stay tuned for more Tulipa coming your way.

Sad confession to make. Took me a while to work out what the "i" word was until I saw mic's reply

The second shot is less striking to me. The RHS is beautifully done, but the image is let down by the large OOF area on the LHS - a problem with the shallow DOF you're playing with

And this one

Within Tulipa

I didn't focus on the Stamin on purpose, this one looks better than the focused Stamin one does with the pattern in the background.

Mic

Rising pink is a little drab - probably a combo of the dark image and the pale tulip, but nice & sharp. Last one is interesting, but just misses the mark somehow

Oh and it's stamen
