Adobe RGB and Nikon Capture

Postby huynhie on Wed Oct 05, 2005 10:39 am

Greetings all,

Can Nikon Capture convert a JPG from Adobe RGB to SRGB and vice-versa?

Yes, but the "vice versa" transformation might result in unfixable colour shift(s) and/or degrade colour and greyscale gradations, leading to unpleasant banding and blockiness.

You should never have a reason to convert sRGB into aRGB.

Thanks Onyx,

How do I go about converting Adobe RGB to SRGB?

Also where about in Nikon Capture do I find the colour profile of the image?

In the Advance RAW palette, the 'color mode' determines colourspace. Mode II is aRGB, the rest including 'a' variants are sRGB of one flavour or another.

Oh hang on, you're talking about working with JPEGs in NC... phuck.
