Best file format for sending files to print

Postby rokkstar on Thu Oct 13, 2005 11:24 am

I'm send ing some files to a magazine and was wondering what people think the best format is. 300dpi Jpeg seems fine because they can open it up their end and re-save. What about TIF?

Would appreciate your comments
Cheers

For a mag, which can only print ~a4 at most, I would think low compression jpeg should be fine...

I have had a couple printed in Camera magazine and they were happy with jpegs

Some magazines will list their requirements for submissions on their website, or in the mag itself (check out the bit that lists all their contacts, editorial info, etc.).
Otherwise, may pay to drop them a line or ring them :)
