Picture Of The Week - October 25, 2005This week's picture is a beautiful shot by Mal.
An excellent example of how a fisheye lens should be used and a stunning picture overall. If I had a thumbs up emoticon, I'd be using it right now. Stunning shot. Original thread here. Producer & Editor @ GadgetGuy.com.au

Ya done good with your POTW pick, Leigh. That's an excellent shot and I agree, it's a wonderful example of proper use of a fisheye.
Well done shot, Mal. my gallery of so-so photos

I normally do not like special effects lens, but this, as already pointed out, is a very good example of what can be done with a fisheye. Congratulations Mal.

Couldn't agree more about this week's choice. I was in awe when I first saw it. Like Oneputt, I don't normally go in for this sort of distortion unless it's really warranted and handled well. You've scored top marks on both counts, Mal. Well done.
Good choice Leigh. Simon

Steve,
Meet me down at Pyrmoint in 15; there's a very wide selection of fish, and you can get any eye you want. Mal, this is simply a stunning image, and a well deserved winner of this award. Congratulations, and well done. g.

Many thanks for all of your positive comments, and thanks Leigh for choosing my picture to be the POTW.
It was an awesome experience to be up on Table Mountain at sunset, and for any fellow travellers it is a must do if you go to Cape Town. If you do go I’ll give you the number of my mate with the fish eye lens!!!! Mal
I've got a camera, it's black. I've got some lens, they are black as well.
This is a beautiful shot Mal! Congratulations!
