Lightning... ?

Postby Alpha_7 on Fri Oct 28, 2005 12:43 am

How should I try to capture lighting... I am in the middle of a huge storm.

atm Shooting 20 sec exposure at about F20, I have a few little bits of lightning.. any suggestions ?

20 secs is great, but I would drop the aperture back to f8. If the lighting strikes are too burnt out pop it up a bit. I have seen good result between f5.6 and f16 - it just depends on the intensity and proximity of the lightning strike.

can't wait to see your results

It's still going, but here are a few shots, straight from the Camera to you...

I still have to get back to my work, but I figure I don't get many opportunities with a big storm...

a lot of it's sheet lightning so not good to photograph, but a few forks have made it onto my PC. :)
