Nice Setup

At fashion week yesterday
took these candid shots of one of the pro fashion photographers
most of them had a similar setup



the 28-70 f2.8, custom flash powersource and custom flash bracket -sweet


predominantly there were canons with the 70-200 IS L series lenses

but 4 including me of the 20 photographers had the nikon D2X

there were about 4 female fashion photographers all were geared up to the teeth, and they were all young, attractive and very skilled. 3 Canon girls and 1 nikon girl.

So what are you saying Wendell? You have to be young and attractive to get a job as a fashion photographer, oh yeah, skilled too of course. They might think its a contradiction of terms having anything but 'beautiful' people at the fashion parade. That just killed my career move!!
IMO the girls doing the photography are a 'sight' better than the ones on the catwalk.

Anyone know what the bracket is ?
Looks like my sk-6, but the base is much larger.

Fitting the sb800 works, but you have to be careful as the US and the euro versions of the bracket have a different connector (square and round)
I use a very similar system actual - monopod with a 234rc, and the sk6/sk-6a and as BD suggests the 28-70 works well on it - good balance.

Can I assume the bracket is to hold both a film camera and digital and be able to fire them at the same time?

Why would the fash photographers need to have images on both digital and film formats?

I have seen surf photographers use a similar set up, mounting a digital SLR (usually Canon) with 6oomm lens on a horizontal bracket next to a video camera. I assume they sell the photos to the surf magazines and save the footage for a surf vid at the end of the year.

No, it's not better than the SD8a, coz it takes long time to recharge its battery, while the SD8a can use difference set of 2500mAH batteries.

see size doesn't matter, just thought the other sk6 is bigger and has more flashing lights so like an ass i assumed it wold be better than the sd8A

i will keep my sd8A and just focus my efforts on getting a good flash arm.

Yes, it does, bigger size, more attractive to the opposite side/ sex, and it serves its purposes.
