Hiring a lens for an event?

Postby Cyrus on Fri Oct 28, 2005 9:18 pm

I saw somewhere (can't recall where) that some people, mostly pros can hire a lens for a particular job or event.

Does anybody know of a place that does this in Australia - Brisbane area more specifically?

Thanks
Cyrus

Sorry mate, the only place I know of is in Sydney.

It can get pretty pricey if you do it a few timess, in the end you may be better off buying your own (or buying second hand).

Good luck searching though! :)

There is a place in BNE that does hire, but dammit I can't remember their name. Maybe Kayel?

Canon 20D and a bunch of lovely L glass and a 580EX. Benro tripod. Manfrotto monopod. Lowepro and Crumpler bags. And a pair of Sigma teleconverters, and some Kenko tubes.

Thanks TonyH... any idea on the prices? I'll call them but thought I'd ask before I made the call.

Cheers

One off rentals can be really really exxy

I looked at hiring a d2X for a main shooter for a wedding once and it was going to cost more then a brand new d70s kit.

also most newspapers and or pro's with a fairly high turnover tend to lease lenses from canon/nikon/whomever.

This probly doesn't help much but you may gain a tad more insight into it.
