It's time for you guys to upgrade to the 5D or keep waiting for the next 30D.

Or use the camera that you have and stop worrying about what else is out there.

Totally agree. I had to sit through an excruciatingly inane thread of emails yesterday, of my friends drooling over the 200D. They couldn't tell me what the point of upgrading from a D70 was besides the novelty.

My 20D will last me at least another 2 years, probably far far more. Upgrade money is better spent on a new tripod, better glass and photography courses, in my case.

I agreee,
the latest camera doesn't make you a better photographer.
But nice L glass certainly helps...!!!
What does that button do....??

Did mine last night.

That "six seconds" to verify is a bit of an understatement; had me worried for a while there (I have a bad history of trashing gear when doing firmware updates).

Hopefully it might see off the old Err99 I used to get sometimes when shooting rapid, might have been my CF card playing up (having said that, the CF cards that used to do that have since been stolen, so maybe I'll never know if it was the card or not, since it hasn't done it since).

The 5D would be tempting if it were cheaper. At this point in time it is just too expensive. As much as I love my wide angle, I have my old film body for the odd super-wide shot ... for now :)

Canon 20D and a bunch of lovely L glass and a 580EX. Benro tripod. Manfrotto monopod. Lowepro and Crumpler bags. And a pair of Sigma teleconverters, and some Kenko tubes.
