Thanks Redline,
We're only all to well aware of this screw-up,
I spent 45 mins getting to work this morning, normally takes 10mins
Meanwhile it took my fiance over 2 hours on public transport for what is normally a 30 min journey.
This fractured unit is about a 1km from our unit so it will be another interesting journey home tonight.
I see Mr Tripod is keeping quiet on this matter, no doubt hanging his head in shame at another toll road disaster

Well to be fair, the government can hardly be blamed for this one. Surely the fault lies with the company constructing the thing (unless it's the government's fault the tunnel is being built in the first place)

Maybe I should alter my profile to say "Newcastle, no tunnels, no tolls"

Precisly my point, there 5 months ahead of schedule, with 3 site engineers walking off the site in the past week.
Coincidence, I think not.
This reeks of a company pushing too hard to win performance bonuses for early completion.
My original point is who is governing the construction company, surely the Goverment as they signed the contracts.

Were they represented you to sign the contract? and they worked for you?
They were authorized to use your money based on your vote :?:

Actually - the state government is well & truly to blame for this debacle... They have flatly refused to install in-tunnel filtration due to political pig-headedness and that was why the company was constructing a ventilation shaft right next to the apartment block... That's what caused the subsidence...

As Paul described... the North Shore was gridlocked today and all the traffic that normally flows on Epping Road is going past my house instead... But I don't suppose the state government gives a damn about that either...
They know that they're not going to get any votes here anyway...

It has been a fun couple of days here in Lane Cove. I've discovered that I can get all the way from my house in West Lane Cove to Chatswood station on a long series of backstreets without queuing past Leek's place, I've rubber-necked with the best of 'em at the "black hole", rode my bike to work passing hundreds of cars, and laughed riotously at some of the uninformed comments made by both journalists and amateur ignoramuses alike.

I demand more chaos! I want my backyard to fall in, helicopters around the clock, ticked off commuters and political rants that can't accept the possibility that sometimes, shit happens.

The imminent terrorist attack/s should be interesting, whatever happens, we can just pour concrete on it and all will be well. :)

It's probably more to do with the price of 3 flights to the UK...

Besides, the Tokina seems to get good reviews and I'm not prepared to pay more than twice the price even if the Nikon 12-24 is slightly better...

This also make "LANE COVE" a popular spot with the Labor Party and the world perhaps

Owen, Pls. feel free to add this spot to your website as one of the famous spots to see & photography, while people are in Sydney

Why don't they try to utilize and use that big hole to build an International swinning Pool to host the next World Swimming Champion

Before, no ones knows what and where's "LANE COVE" :(

 There's a big pool across the road already, you would no doubt have fond recollections of Leek's battle to get photography permitted there.

Yes, I knew, but the new hole and the most "big noise" will make the new swimming pool more far better famous than the old one.
