New RRS-designed TP-243 Ground Pod...fozzie
When people ask what equipment I use - I tell them my eyes.
Personally I don't like Fozzie, and I haven't even read what it said
If you want to get low level to your subjects than a skimmer pod (or homemade job) is the way to go. Something I noticed lastnight when trying to move the gitzo flattened out is that the legs were brushing against reeds and making a lot of noise. The skimmer pod is like a frying pan (but only ways 18oz - ideal for travelling overseas with weight restrictions) and has a standard thread (3/8"?) for a Wimberley, Ball or QR Clamp. With that you can slide through mud, sand, dirt etc. I'll take a read of it later, but that's my first impression. Darryl (aka Kipper)

Not good fozzie, a bean bag or other ground pod are better than this product from RRS.

kipper, I missed this don't you like fozzie? Yes, the ground pod is the way to go, bean bag works in some cases but not the way of the ground pod is. Birddog114
