Camo Long Lens Covers For 500 f4?

Postby NikonUser on Mon Nov 07, 2005 7:09 pm

Hi there

Just wondering if there are products such as the ones on this page (left hand side)

http://www.birdsasart.com/accs.html

for Nikon Lenses? Specifically the 500 F4?

It'd be great to hide the scuffs on my lens and also offer a nice amount of protection too.

Thanks

Paul

Something that would be much more effective would be scrim.

Go to a local army disposals or camping store and ask if they have either camo or olive drab scrim (It's the stuff that is kinda of like netting that soldiers normally wear around thier necks) It would be much more effective then just a drawing on a lens as it would actually disrupt the outline of the lens which is the whole point of a DPCU "disruptive pattern camoflage uniform.

Actually I have to disagree. I've had my lens for a week and a bit. On top of camoflague netting/scrim, I also want to get a cover for the lens. Mainly for protection for the body of the lens. I've already got a few scratches here and there as I've crawled through shelly shorelines.

I'm with Kipper...

Lens protection is my main aim with the cover.

Seems like you can only get covers for the Nikon 600 f4. Damn.

Well while you are in the camping store you could always get a tent too, that'd surely be a lot cheaper than a house. :D

Check out Bunnings or similar hardware store for the modern style pipe lagging and make your own protection
